We raced on the June 20, 2008 at RMRP! I know I thought it was amazing too, it finally quit raining last week and we had a week of sunshine the track dried up.
I arrived at the track at 5ish I was so excited because I had some of the coolest sunglasses from Assorted Metals (one of our great sponsors’).
Pierre asks “if they came in prescription”
I told him “I don’t think so” (now he can’t be one of the cool kids like the rest of the team)
At 5:30 I asked Pierre where was Todd and was he going to be sucking up to the driver bring hot dogs as I thought he was late. Pierre informed us that he would be late and wouldn’t be sucking up bring hotdogs as he had phoned to tell Pierre he would be late.
The first heat of the night the crew total had the car hooked up Pierre pulled up out front and dominated second place. Ok I know that sounds bad but Kyle (#397) pulled in to first and had a half a track on Pierre at the start of the race. As the race went on Pierre closed the gap and before the race was over both Pierre and Kyle lapped the last car.
The second heat the car seems to be hooked up really great again and Pierre had some great driving he passed the 2D car to finish third. We were in great shape for the main race.
Well the main started and coming out of corner 3 and into corner 4 car 397 came down off the top and bumped our car. Pierre didn’t stand a chance the car rolled 3 times and came to rest on its side. It was so scary to watch from the stands I didn’t get one picture until I ran down three floors to the edge of the track and then I was shaking that the two pic. that I took are all blurry. The car had to be towed off the track and Pierre walked back to the pits with D’Arcy.
No one was hurt. But both cars need new wings
